Building a Sustainable Studio

In the early 2010s I built a small home steps away from Lake Scugog. I incorporated my artistic sensibility into the structure itself and prioritized sustainability and energy efficiency wherever I could.

The studio is more than a workspace — it is part of the landscape I draw inspiration from. Flying my ultralight over the lake gives me perspective; returning to the forge grounds me in the physical labor that sculpture demands.

Good work comes from a life in balance. The lake, the workshop, and the people I love all feed the pieces that leave my hands.
