The Anatomy of Animal Sculpture

Animal sculpture is a study in anatomy and attitude. Viewers may not know the species in detail, but they know instantly when something feels wrong — a joint that bends unnaturally, a neck that lacks grace.

I reference photographs, specimens, and live observation whenever possible. Then I simplify without lying. Metal cannot replicate fur or feather, so the gesture must carry the life of the creature.

When a client tells me the work is anatomically accurate and full of expression, I know the piece has done its job.
